Please file a task in jira to write some docs on how to use SeamTest without
TestNG (you are always going to have to do some stuff to get it working unlike
with TestNG which works ootb, but lets make it possible and documented)

Have you tried right-clicking on the Test in Eclipse and going 'Run As -
TestNG Test'?

Yes, sure. But after some work it just disappeared. And I cannot say why. But
even this menu just generates temp-testng-customsuite.xml instead of running
tests without xml.
