most things seem to be straight forward to follow using the aproach detailed in
http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JbpmOnTomcat, but on tomcat 5.0.28 I
am getting the following error when accessing the webapp...

Ross,
as TC 5.0.28 doesn't include the el*.jars by default as the TC 6.0 series does,
you will have to repackage el-api.jar and el-ri.jar back into
jbpm-console.war/WEB-INF/lib (these files get deleted by the ant call described
in step 2.1 of the wiki and can be found in the original web app

I've also checked if the instructions on
http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JbpmOnTomcat
are still valid for jBPM 3.2.1 and made some minor changes where necessary, so
this could also help to get you started!
