you ever see how lots of jsf components look in an ide? you mostly see nothing.

What do you mean by the question? You can use eclipse with the JBoss Tools to
developer / extend the console.

I am surprised at the fact that You do not use a visual designer for the
development of the web part. How it is possible to see it in this manner, how
will look in the browser?

Some are using plain editors and just ANT, Eclipse IDE can be used. So if you
