Hi:
I am considering buying the latest softcopy of the JBoss book written by
Scott. However, one thing that came to mind is that if I bought it now, how
do I get subsequent updates for that book? Is this going to be the eventual
printed book by SAMS?
Thanks

Check out WASP from SYSTINET.
It supports invoking EJBs through SOAP and supports deployment to JBoss.

I'm using JBoss 3.0.0. In the default-configuration there is the Hypersonic
database "default", which I think is managed by
JBOSS-SYSTEM:service=ConnectionFactoryLoader,name=DefaultDS.
ConnectionManagerFactoryLoaderName
JCA:service=ConnectionManagerFactoryLoader,name=MinervaSharedLocalCMFactory
I checked in a working CMP 2.0/jboss xdoclet last week. I believe David
has updated the docs. You will need to grab it from CVS and compile it.

the SOAP stuff (running behind your port 80 firewall)
acts as an EJB client. Some weeks ago i set up a small test
which worked (after fiddling with same CLASSPATH problems)
java client - http (SOAP messages) -- port 80 -- SOAP server -- RMI/IIOP/CORBA(?
One of us is confused.
I have run soap services from within JBoss using
Apache SOAP.
You simply deploy your SOAP implementation onto JBoss'
webcontainer (I used Jetty), then deploy your SOAP
services into that.
Why you need to tunnel, I'm not sure (to get through a
firewall? - nothing to do wit
In fact, I would like to know if I will encounter problems
when using a java application (client) and invoking EJBs in JBoss
through a firewall. it's said that if rmi does not work (port 1099
protected),
the invocation (rmi) will automatically use http tunelling (HTTP POST
request through
port 80

Could you explain what you mean by this? A servlet running in JBoss's
web context (i.e. Jetty or Catalina) can do the job of translating

dunno,
Do you know the article about security by Scott Stark ?

We wrote our own ServerLoginModule based on
AbstractServerLoginModule/UserPasswordLoginModule of jboss.
Therefore I'm not used to the tables and sql statements the

Hi it's me again with my questions :D
Does anybody knows:
- if JBoss supports http tunelling?
- how SOAP can work with JBoss together?

Hi, it's always me with the security topic!
I think my problem is not in the authentication, but in role mapping, cause I
got the printing: [Default] User 'leonardi' authenticated (but the user gets
the HTTP-403!)
I use the DatabaseServerLoginModule and this is the entry in my
