I have installed JBoss on Windows Server 2003. When ever I do a ctrl-C to exit
out of JBoss and then try to restart it, it fails. Tells me that Port 1098 is
still in use. Using some port tools, I do not see the port in use. I have to
re-boot my machine in order to free up the port.

Must be a simplier way.

Any directions on to make sure that this does not happen?

I have removed IM from this box since it has been pointed out that IM's can
cause a problem.
