Bill you were right. I finally worked out what you meant.
The persistence.xml file in a par MUST be called persistence.xml.
Seems obvious now.

Thanks Bill, but the jar creation is right. The persistencepublished.xml file
is located in directory dd/persistence.
Any other ideas?

I've been trying now for sometime to get a second EntityManager to deploy
successfully using EJB 3.0 and JBoss 4.0.3 SP1.
My second EntityManager references existing Entities and a second database.
The pesistence.xml for my second EntityManager is as follows:
