i think, there were something wrong datas in the local db.
i made this, to solve the problem:
(my server is playground ... your could be default or sth. else)
i opened this folder:
C:\jboss-4.0.0\server\playground\data\hypersonic
or e.g.
C:\jboss-4.0.0\server\default\data\hypersonic
i deleted

in hsqldb-ds.xml you find:
user-namesa/user-name
i think its case-sensitiv... so SA is wrong ... try sa
