don't give a rat's ass how the server is structured, etc. etc. etc. - I don't plan to
extend it. Guess I'll slog through the forums, etc. and hope to get some real
information on how to make this thing work.
While I'm not sure I would have used the same language, I see that wyroc essentially
wrote exactly the message I came here to post. Has nobody ever seen what a real
user's manual or administration manual look like? I'm glad the JBoss developers had
a chance to talk about their elegant architecture and other accomplishments (and they
are fine accomplishments). But the $10 has barely helped me to operate or administer
JBoss. As Wyroc points out, this guide is for people who want to extend the JBoss
architecture. I don't think it's geared at people who want to develop J2EE
components and deploy them inside JBoss.

As somebody who has a fair amount of experience with developing and deploying J2EE
components on various closed-source commercial application servers, I'm looking for
comprehensive instructions on how to deploy beans, configure JMS queues, and so
forth, on JBoss. This is present to some degree in the documentation, but it's buried
and hard to find - at least to me. Anybody have any tips on where I should be looking?

I'm encouraged to hear that the "Getting Started" guide might be helpful. If only the
link worked, I'd be able to download it and check it out. I'm not super-optimistic,
though; since it sounds like it's limited to the features used in Sun's examples, I
am pretty worried that other features won't be covered. Furthermore, I'm really more
interested in a manual rather than a how-to tutorial.

wyroc - did you manage to download the Getting Started guide, and did it answer your
questions?
