From what you've written, it appears that you are trying to run this with a
1.4 JVM, and yet the error message is reporting that you need hotspot 1.5.
I think you'll need a 1.5 JVM for this (i.e. you need to install J2SE 5.0).

I have had success with it by running visualgc local to the server. Visualgc
should be run with JDK1.5. Jboss need not run JDK1.5. set your environment
variable..
JVMSTAT_JAVA_HOME = C:\Progra~1\Java\jdk1.5.0_05
and
PATH to include :\Progra~1\Java\jdk1.5.0_05\bin;c:\jvmstat\bin
