I think they're centralized, but they do seem to offer either hosted

Probably referring to me since you used my XDB++, and I think I'm the
only person to use that so far ;-)
It's still a conceptual thing, and I would love to have design talks
around it. Anyone really interested in this should probably join the

They are proprietary, I thought they were centralized too, but I could
be wrong there. As for a patent pending on msg encryption, I have to
give them a big "yeah right". If a patent is awarded in that area (even
if it is a new algorithm), then it'll be highly contested. Encrypting

Hi,
I was wondering if any of you had any experience with Bantu(www.bantu.com).
I just heard about it from a friend of mine and checked out the website.
Wasn't able to gather much information, except for their claims to be
'interoperable', 'secure', 'business-grade'. There isn't much descripti

And while we're at it, there is no client named WinJabber. WinJab, yes.
WinJabber, no.

OK, one ... more .. time ...
That is a bug in WinJabber or in the version of Windows being used.

Duh, I wasn't thinking here. I still need a mechanism to pass to xdb a
search parameter, like the filter to do the search in LDAP, or the actual
e-mail address to search on. Sooo, I pose the same question about adding an
xdb search to the already coded xdb set, and xdb get. Am I the only one

Some detailed points:* You make the point that the client should
integrate into the operating system's GUI, but then you show Mac-style flippy
triangles for the group show/hide controls on a Windows client. For it to be

Thanks for the pointer Rikard.
I didn't want to deviate too far from the traditional Windows interface that
most people know, but I'm always interested in GUI design, so I will check
out the links.
I look forward to reading your ideas.

Peter, thanks for the reply, but I was hoping for something a bit more
helpful. There seems to be a large amount of people who are prepared to
stand up and say "This looks like the ICQ interface which is Bad" but there
are more productive ways to commen
