I'm sorry, but I have been having problems with joining these list (I
think there is a problem with Sendmail and joining these list, but that's
another matter). Is anyone receiving this? I have been pulling my hair
out for 2 days now. Any help would be appreciated:

Hello, this is my first post to the list. Hope it all goes through ok. :)
So you want to be notified of new messages with the least screen real-estate
possible and on a per-user basis? My recommendation is to use a client with
sound events. Dockapp/icons are second best, as they take up very

I am trying to setup Jabber on our servers and have had some success, but
also some problems.
I have conferencing installed and did a make on the conference.so, which
does exist. I've set things up exactly as said in the README file but
when trying to connect using MyJabber I get Not Implemen

Hi,
How would one send a message (headline)from the server to the client
with a delayed setting. Basically iam composing a message to the client, just
before he is authenticated and using js_delive to deliver the packet. Any help
on C will help.

Is anybody else interested in or implementing a Jabber server transport to
interface with Microsoft's Exchange Instant Messenger server? Because that
server is free for enterprises, my company has already deployed it even
though it's proprietary and there's no non-Windows clients. Strategically,

Ah, but there are two different company.com servers, one just for the
intranet and one for the internet. I only care about the one on the inside
and there's no need to have a firewall between it and the intranet.
Another problem with the forwarding idea is that I don't necessarily want

If people want to use non-user-friendly operating systems, that's their
own choice. To use the existance of non-user-friendly operating systems
as an excuse to fool around with the Jabber server (or worse - with the
protocol itself!) is rather insane, though, IMHO.

Hi Raditha,

I checked this by putting some debug info with every occurance of
SQLFreeHandle, but this didn't seem to be the case. At first the
environment-handler is made successfully, then the database-handler is
created, also OK,
probably none, but ask a linux-tjomme (svenska for dude) to redirect
a port and it's done in five minutes, ask a Win sysadmin and the probability
that you get the question 'what's a port' is somewhat high. It shouldn't be
necessary to be a developer to just set up a jabberserver on another machi
Hi Michel,
I am guessing here but does it have anything to do with
SQLFreeHandle(SQL_HANDLE_DBC,self->dbc) in xdbodbc_connect ?
End of the day here in colombo and i am a bit too tired to try to odbc
module right now. Fire a mail if you still can't get it to work after
juggling with that and i

Excellent, thanks for that, it had been driving me crazy.
I can't seem to get JIM working with passworded rooms though. It asks
for a password, but then the "Join" button is still greyed out. Oh
well, can't have everything.
