brannan n created JENKINS-13433:
-----------------------------------

Summary: War file output naming should have an option to ignore
the 'version' in the pom file
                 Key: JENKINS-13433
                 URL: https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-13433
             Project: Jenkins
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: build-flow
         Environment: linux
            Reporter: brannan n
            Assignee: Nicolas De Loof
            Priority: Minor

It looks like the output of the built war file name is artifactId-version from
the pom file.
Hudson used to ignore the version which is fine for me since I could just pull
the war and deploy it on the server without having to rename it. Is there an
option in Jenkins to ignore the version from the pom file? This would keep me
from having to rename the file and would save a step. Since I eventually plan
on just giving the admins a link to the war and having them download/deploy the
file. I tried to leave the version field empty or even remove it from the pom
but both cause errors and won't build properly.

Thanks for any help!
