Hi,
When would one use VelocityPortlet vs TurbineScreenPortlet. I am using
VelocityPortlet and set the template to say 'Welcome' and I also define a
screen class called welcome. The screen class doesn't get invoked ( which I
thought was the default behaviour of the TurbineVelocitySrevice
I appreciate all the help I'm getting thus far. Thanks!
I'm trying a few suggestions that I received earlier and it was suggested
that I download and install jdk 1.3.0 for a possible problem I'm having.
Does anyone know where I can download jdk 1.3.0 for Linux?? The only
versions I seem to be
Vincent,
3.3-m3 uniquely defines the version. I downloaded it on 22-jun-2001. My
platform is NT4.

I am trying to use
the Customizer to customize the "turbine" user. The changes don't
stick. Any ideas?

Very thanks Raphael, it's working now,
But I think I'm going to stop to try jetspeed in root! (It was to launch apache : port

Do you have install others directories or files in my system Raphael ? ;-)
Very very thanks,

vincent.

Hello,
I have a question about developpement of jetspeed:
I thought that jetspeed was created with only JAVA.
Is that right?
And if is right, there is no difference between jetspeed 's running on Unix and
jetspeed's running on Windows , isn't it ?

Vincent,
I have successfully used Tomcat 3.3-m3. The directory structure for 3.3
is slightly different. You will notice their are no Jetspeed or Xerces
file in %TOMCAT_HOME%\lib. The installation of Jetspeed is simply
moving the WAR file to %TOMCAT_HOME%\webapps and restarting TOMCAT.

I am seeing a problem with session, is there a way to show session info
inside of a portlet -- would that work in Tomcat or is session info inside
of Jetspeed out of the question. I am currently using HP-Bluestone as my

Hello,
I tried to do what Benjamin Madsen said, but it's still not working.
I read the mailing list and Raphael Luta said like Benjamin Madsen.
I would like to know what version of tomcat I should use to have the right
version of xerces
(what is the right version of xerces : xerces_1_3_1 ? )
Yes, I'm using the latest cvs (one week old now).
I've had no response so far but I'm looking in to the
latest post from Benjamin Madsen, in which he decribes
a fix, see "Re: Cvs error" dated today.
I'm not sure this is related to my problems but I'll give
it a try and post the results.

I have the same pb since some times with the news cvs, I don't see the error,
what I could doing :
I download cvs, then I build the war, then I put the war into webapps of
tomcat, then the auto-deploy seems to be correct,
I obtain the jetspeed directory, I erase the jetspeed.war.

hi Bob,
basically, the JDK contains all what you need: a java compiler ("javac")
and a java interpreter, to run your classes (.class file).
The JDK contains also all the default libraries, so you don't need an extra
JRE.
