Use Role-based PSML, In this case you will have two psmls . One for the
instructor role and one for the student role. When the admin logsin and
assigns the role instructor to the user the instructor's psml will
automatically be assigned to it. See the configuration settings
description in Jetspeed for Role-based configuration

Subject: Copying psml file based on role

 Hi,

We are doing a project where we need to identify instructor and
student.
So when admin creates a new user, he has a choice of assign either of
the role to the new user.

We want the psml for the user to be copied based on the role. For
this to accomplish, we will have psml for say turbine_instructor and
 turbine_student.

So when admin assign the role as student the psml from turbine_student
has to copied.Similarly for the instructor.

Is there any way we can differentiate the role and create the psml
 file accordingly ?

Also I want to know where is the copying of psml done. ?

 thanks in advance
Mahaveer
