Although I have not worked with IFrames, I suspect you will have a better chance of
success with them. In general the is generated before any portlet content is
generated.

to have my portlet contain an IFRAME which loads the DHTML page as its source. In the
source page I can do what ever magic is required for the DHTML since that page will
have its own and tags.
