I am using Eclipse (with wtp 1.0) to develop portal. I am using wtp build
process for building the portlets. I have also configured Eclipse to use
Jetspeed as SDK and I could build and run the portal within Eclipe WTP
environment.

I have some questions about jetspeed 2.
(1) I deployed jetspeed 2 on jrun 4. I found the character encoding is
ISO-8859-1 in final generated page. But I found it is UTF-8 in tomcat 5. the
page become error when I change the Locale to Japan. Why? What's the

Are you sure that you save the file(psml or JSP or properities file or JSF
stuff) in UTF-8 ?
What do the browser and generated HTML say about encoding when you see the
portlet?
like menu > view > encoding .
