A new CD from Myriam Alter features her compositions, that have
argentinian/judeo spanish roots, played by an interesting quintet that
includes joey baron and greg cohen (part of Zorn's Masada) an

Hi...September is John Zorn's 50th birthday with many celebrations and
articles being prepared..We (AAJ-NY) are planning a feature, that I
will be involved in it appears, tonic has just announced that every day
in september will ferature zorn and/or his music..here is the list

Hi...just wanted to make those interested aware of a website that
caters to NYC experimental/improvisational music and as such does
feature/promote a fair amount of Jewish influenced jazz CDs/concerts.
It is run by Kurt Gottschalk who I met at the recent NYC visions

times , when it has been packed and times when the musicians
outnumbered the patronsas I think I mentioned in an earlier
post...it is just not the klezmer brunch that lacks for patrons at
