question 2, does jffnms can monitoring a VPN status (e.g. up/down,
bandwidth... etc) if the VPN is software based.

I am looking a nms for our LAN system, but want to know more of the

1. How does the real monitor operation? By SNMP or by TCP? Does any
"agent" or applications installed to the target machine if using SNMP?
2. Does it has any function designed for monitor ID
