Yep. This works fine for Windows XP. Just tried ithere

If I recall correctly this is actually a problem with Windows 2000 specifically. We are wrapping up our Windows 2003 upgrade and it works fine with Win2003 but never did with Win2k. You should be able to use your hardware vendor's SN
