Hi folks,
I am trying to find the way how it is possible to send plain XML content
wrapped in the HTTP request.
I want to use JMeter 2.0.1 as a tool for performance testing of our
application. There is a C++ custom made thin client communicating with
server tier (Java servlets running within Apa

Mr. McAbee,
Thank you very much. My fault was to open the .jtl file in Excel
which showed every single request. I was not aware that such
simplistic copying would work with spreadsheets. I just tried it
with OpenOffice Calc and it worked fine

Dear Mr. Woger and
Yup the syntax looks correct. The data is held until the test is over and then
sent back to the client. You can test this by including a Listener. You should
notice that the results come back as one large batch.

I am using this on windows:
C:\jmeter201\jakarta-jmeter-2.0.1\bin>jmeter.bat -Dhold_samples=true
Is the syntax correct?
How does hold_samples work? Does the agents machines release the data at the
end of the test?
Thanks,
Charles

Dear Mr. Woger and JMeter Users:
Copying an Aggregate Report to an Excel spreadsheet
1. In JMeter, run a test plan that has an Aggregate Report listener.
2. Click the first row of the Aggregate Report element.
3. Press Ctrl+Shift+End to select all rows.
4. Press Ctrl+C to copy
Add "-Dhold_samples=true" on the command line when you start Jmeter. Don't
think it is documented. I could be wrong though.

Have successfully use
Have successfully used the JMeter client to run 3 remote Jmeter servers with
quite a large load. Just used the "hold_samples" to avoid the network traffic.
Also submitted a patch for batch testing a while ago. If its still in bugzilla
it might be worth a look.

I'm not sure it's advisable to use a single JMeter client instance to
run 7 remote servers.
The client - and the network - may well be swamped by the response data.
With the current JMeter architecture, it's far better to run multiple
independent non-GUI tests and combine the result files for fur
