Hi, I have strange problem, I am recording my application WebPages using
a proxy server component. But, JMeter records different number of URLs
with IE and Firefox for the same webpage. More precisely, IE records
each .gif request as a separate URL while Firefox is not. Does somebody
has a clue?

Even when you are recording the test from behind your company's proxy
server, do not bypass the Jmeter's proxy even for local addresses.
Jmeter will take care of the rest.
For loginconfigelement, see the Jmeter documentation, especially the
component reference part.
