I successfully did the following using straight Win32 ... no cygwin.
- installed Sun j2sdk 1.4.2_01
- installed Ant 1.5.4
- downloaded http://jmol.sf.net/demo/jmol/jmol.jar
- ran jmol.jar
- used anonymous cvs to get the current Jmol-HEAD source code
- compiled it
- ran it

Hi,
We are using as prototypes the models developed by Merkle and Drexler
that are posted as PDB files at IMM.org.
Egon. We have contacted IMM concerning those pdb files. They are
public domain so there is no problem if you want to add them as examples
to the Jmol distribution. The licens

Printing now works.
It automatically will scale if either the width or height of your screen
image is too large.
I am currently *not* doing anything about the background color.
If your background is black and you print, you are going to use a lot of ink.
In the future I will probably change this
