I experimented some with further reducing the load time for JSmol. Removal
of all script code brings us down by 25% (you can still send scripts, but
if you DO NOT, then 0.5 Mb of code is not delivered). Note that JSmol can
be programmed without scripting, but you have to know your way around it.

Actually, for mouse manipulation, hover is still alive on in this touch mode,
so mouse hover selects the model. With a mouse, you do not need to use the
links to select the models - at least on Safari.

OK, I'll test one thing at a time. I've set the page to default to touch mode.
In this mode, I'm only using bind LEFT on the Move screen. There are no key
modifiers being used.
As far as I can tell on the iPad, the only useful JSmol touch bindings are LEFT
and DOUBLE. There is, in fact, a
