It's a bit trickier if you are using the track pad in the "drag lock" (tap tap-drag) mode. To do a pan you'd need to do a tap, tap, tap-drag. To release you'd then tap one last time. I often wondered why there isn't another way to do it---a different command key or command key combination.

Hi I am a new user to jmol (on mac os x) and I could not figure out how to pan the view. I found out how to rotate, zoom in/out, etc, for so far no success in panning the view. Please help! -- Apps built with the Adobe(R)
