Ahmedabad diocese has been divided into two viz. Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. Gandhinagar will be the Arch Diocese and our current Bishop Stanlislaus Fernandes will be the Arch Bishop of Gandhinagar. The communication about this has just arrived yesterday evening. The new Bishop for Ahmedabad is Bishop Thomas Macwan. He is the first Gujarati Bishop in the 100 years history of Gujarati church and is a very zealous and committed worker for the renewal of the church. He has been very close to Jesus Youth and has been a tremendous support to all the renewal activities. I personally feel very happy as he has been like a close friend to me. I thank God for selecting him as our new Bishop. Let us all pray for Bishop Thomas Macwan so that he may lead the church wonderfully.
