For those using the treeview plug-in by bassistance.de, note that for the cookie based persistence to work you must include the jquery cookie plugin which can be found here.
http://plugins.jquery.com/project/cookie This may be written somewhere in the original documentation, I'm not entirely sure so I figured I might as well post it for those who are struggling with it like I was. Have fun with this great plug-in.
