I am wrestling with the FLV Video Gallery -- a WordPress plug-in.
Basically it allows you to stack thumbnails on a dedicated page, and
when the viewer selects one you get the JS gallery treatment where the
page goes dark and the video plays in the FLV Gallery player. (Link
below)

It uses Simple Modal 1.1.1 -- I updated but it caused problems. The
developer is not to be found and I can't find a similar plug-in for
internal video archiving on WP.

Problem 1: When I tried updating the Simple Modul but it made the
close box image and functionality disappear, as in you couldn't stop
the video without leaving the page or do anything once it finished.

Problem 2: This plug-in works great and looks elegant on Firefox and
Safari. On IE(8), however, the response is not to use the gallery's
FLV player, but to throw up a security box and then a box asking if I
want to run or save the streaming video file. On one of our PCs, the
one with Vista, it then plays the video in the PC's (default) FLV
player. On another (XP), it simply leaves you with a blank white box.
(Both IE8)

I just want the IE to have the video stream in the gallery's FLV
player, as it does on the other browsers.

Here is our test page

and here is the link to the developer's version. IE functions
correctly on his version but not ours.

Here is the sample short code for the individual videos:

flvgallery video="/path/to/videos/video1.flv" title="Title for Video
1" caption="Optional Caption" thumbnail="/path/to/thumbnails/
thumbnail1.jpg" url="" url_text=" url_icon="" width="400" height="225"

Apologies if this help request is too far afield for the forum.
