With the code being stored on Google ( http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxlibs/documentation/index.html#jquery ) would it not be beneficial to have that information shown next to the download area so people know that they can link to the version on google's servers. The only time I can think when you really have to store the script locally is when you are using SSL.
