[jQuery] Orkan star rating widget

Can get it, why this works:

$("#stars-wrapper1").stars({
           callback: function(ui, type, value) {
              $("#stars-wrapper1").stars("select", value);


and this dont:

$("#stars-wrapper1").stars("select", 3);

Please my friends help with this.
