I have the same problem in all browsers.
I position an element absolute and I apply a fadeIn-command to it:
$("#silhouetten").css({position: 'absolute', left:leftPos + 'px',
top:topPos + 'px', marginLeft:0}).fadeIn("slow");
Nothing happens.
fadeOut works finy actually.
Also slideUp("slow") and
I'm having the same problem in IE6..
