If you include the metadata plugin ( http://plugins.jquery.com/project/metadata
), then you can specify initial values inside the HTML.

<div class="slider-class {slider: { value: 10 } }"></div>

The options on init are determined in the following order (highest
priority at top):
options hash
metadata
plugin defaults
