[jQuery] Scrolling Quote Craziness

On the main page of http://www.marketo.com/
There is a scrolling quote on the left.  (Originally made by Karl, I think)

Watch it for 15 seconds.  After that it starts to go nuts.
Any ideas why this is happening?  The whole page uses jQuery.
