You could also try setting a Content-Disposition header and a mime type header with something other than the standard excel type.

This is offline question.. I have excel files stored in the webserver. when the user download these files, it directly opens in the browser. But i want to ask for a prompt like open or save.. how to do? do i need to do some setting in IE or in webserver.
