Hi (again),

As anybody whose noticed me on this list before will be able to tell,
I'm new to this and to coin a phrase from Robocop 'I'm having...
trouble'.

I'll tell you what I've got, what I need to do and if possible I'd like
someone to tell me how to do it.

I've got a Sun machine running Solaris 7 Server. I've got Apahce running
as I can view the page that tells me it works over my LAN. I've also got
JServ working as well because I can view that over the LAN too using the
page that tells me if that's working. I've also got a basic knowledge of
Java 1.2 and am not to worried about the coding part, it's just getting
the things working behind that so my code can use them.

Here comes the problems.

First I need to run JSP from GNUjsp. I simply cannot understand the
installation procuedure.

Second, I need to connect to a database. I understand how to connect to
databases on a PC NT server using ASP and ODBC. But only have a little
idea about how it works on a unix machine.

Any help would be great as I'm pulling my heair out trying to get things
to work.

Ian
