IDE Oracle JDeveloper 3.1
Server: Tomcat 3.1
JDK : 1.2.2

Hi,

I have begun to get a 500 error (internal server error) with some of my JSP
pages.

Here is an outline of the steps:

1) I make a change to en existing working jsp - the change can be as small
as adding the letter x the <BODY> section

2) I then compile it and stop/start Tomcat

3) I then open a browser load the page and get the error : "Error: 500
Location: /time/jsp/holder2.jsp sun/tools/javac/Main "
(holder2.jsp being the page in question).

If I restore from a backup the original file it then works ok again! If I
just remove the letter I added it doesn't!!

I have tried making the change (obviously I want to make more involved
changes but the x is a test) and then rebooting the machine but to no avail.

What has happened that Tomcat no longer 'likes' altered files. This
difficulty also applies to trying to add new JSP files.

I hope someone can please help as this is amazingly frustrating and I can't
think of any thing that could cause this 'sensitivity' on Tomcat's part.

Regards,
Eoin
