Non-ASCII characters in JRUN

Hi, I have been looking through the mailing list archieve trying to find out how you get JRun to work with other character sets (I need Portugese). I read one reply to someone elses question saying JRun doesn't work with other character sets, is this true?? If it isn't then how do you?? Regards,
