I got a TiBook for 3000 with an Airport base station and a Copy of Office for Mac. Without those the price was like, $2400. Very sweet. Cheers, Nick --- Jon Thomas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Go to Computech and play with an iBook to see if you like it > > > -Original Message- > From:

The think with macs is that just after you buy one they will release something better :-). As long as the one you get works for what you need, it's not really a problem. Right Jon? -Original Message- From: Warner Onstine [mailto:warner@;warneronstine.com] Sent: Thursday, October 17, 2002

[jug-discussion] Mac question

2002-10-18 Thread Randolph S. Kahle
I know this is off-topic, but there seem to be a lot of Mac experts on this list. My father just sold his IBM portable and wants to switch to a Mac portable. Does anyone know about the product cycle from Apple? If he buys a high-end portable today will they bring out new models in another month?

Okay... I now have a Sony Vaio and it is a 1 1/2 years old and it was not top of the line when it was bought. I think it is a Pentium 3. And it has a gig of memory. The HD is slow. How much would a Mac cost that is equivelant or better performance? I need a laptop not a desktop. I want OS X (the l

There are two new BrainBench tests: J2EE and EJB 2.0 CMP. The EJB 2.0 has a lot of questions on MDB and EJB CMP CMR. I took them last night. The EJB 2.0 test was a lot easier than the EJB 1.1 test.   The J2EE test was really hard, and I thought I bombed it, but I did okay.       Rick Hightow

Definitely, I'm using a g3 500 mhz ibook with Jaguar with a 40gb hd and 576mb ram and it works great, one thing though make sure you beef up the ram as much as he can afford and he'll be much happier in the long run. -warner On Thursday, October 17, 2002, at 09:38 AM, Randolph S. Kahle wrote:
