you can add tools to toolbar via-PlugIn too, without changing the OpenJUMP
main class, Check on my Cad Extension for OpenJUMP (
http://sourceforge.net/projects/opensit/files/Openjump/PlugIn/CADExtension/).
The code is embedded into the plugin.
