development, is geom.
It is absolutely a horrible mistake to use any uppercase default name,
and especially so if the name is the same name as the type.
I am sure people would agree on this, just a simple change to get on

The driver "PostGIS Table (new)" creates the geometry column and names it as
uppercase GEOMETRY. I would say that it would be better to use lowercase
"geometry". Now when writing direct database queries users must use exact
column name with double quotes
select "GEOMETRY" from table;
