The 1400's are basically a fixed form factor too - never saw much in the
way of an upgrade path (unless you just jump to 3400's).
1500 seems like a fair compromise

afaik).
I run 11.3R5.3 right now without any problems (besides some 3rd party
optics still locked out by Juniper).
If you follow every release, you will be hurting.

Pretty solid boxes

Have not have any stability issues, they are quick, a pleasure to
configure, and reliable.
I wouldn't go back to ASAs ever at this point either

think it is a primary function that they spend a lot of resources to make
it even usable half the time.
Luckily, the CLI is fully functional :)

The DHCP client code doesn't work well (or at all) on 11.1 right now.
Roll back to 10.4, and you'll be good to go

Also, cross posting may not be the best approach, especially with such

Dell. Juniper was
able to approve larger discounts on Juniper branded equipment, than
Dell could do on the Dell re-brand stuff. YMMV.
Either way, you're getting real Juniper equipment, so you can't really lose.

It isn't MLAG in the sense of Arista's technology, but you can have
two 4500's in a VC and span a LAG across members just fine.
Without VC (or the equivalent from any other switch vendor) this is
not possible.
