Hi Friends, (excuse me for sending this to juniper as well as alcatel list..) I am taking a second chance to get help on this. I am trying to configure my cisco 850 cpe via adsl as a dhcp client to obtain address from the bras router. What i see is , the DHCPDISCOVER from cpe reaches the bras, and the bras replies back with the DHCPOFFER. But DHCPOFFER is not being seen by cpe, though i see counters in incomming atm0.1 interfaces going up, indicating that packets is very well reaching the cpe, but not sure if its issue with bridging on cpe.
My setup is like this ciscoCPE 850 -------adsl------DSLAM-------bras router. I do see input counters go up in atm0.1, but no input counters on bvi interface. so suspecting a bridging issue. ----------------- bridge irb ! ! interface ATM0 no ip address no atm ilmi-keepalive dsl operating-mode auto hold-queue 208 in ! interface ATM0.1 point-to-point no snmp trap link-status pvc 8/37 encapsulation aal5snap ! bridge-group 1 ! interface FastEthernet0 ! interface FastEthernet1 ! interface FastEthernet2 ! interface FastEthernet3 ! i ! interface BVI1 ip address dhcp ip virtual-reassembly ! ! ip http server ip http authentication local ip http secure-server ip http timeout-policy idle 60 life 86400 requests 10000 ip nat inside source list 102 interface Dialer1 overload ! no cdp run ! control-plane ! bridge 1 protocol ieee bridge 1 route ip cpe3#sh bridge Total of 300 station blocks, 299 free Codes: P - permanent, S - self Bridge Group 1: Address Action Interface Age RX count TX count 0030.8810.5098 forward ATM0.1 0 33 0 cpe3#sh sp cpe3#sh spanning-tree Bridge group 1 is executing the ieee compatible Spanning Tree protocol Bridge Identifier has priority 32768, address 0000.0cf0.2394 Configured hello time 2, max age 20, forward delay 15 We are the root of the spanning tree Topology change flag not set, detected flag not set Number of topology changes 3 last change occurred 00:10:29 ago from ATM0.1 Times: hold 1, topology change 35, notification 2 hello 2, max age 20, forward delay 15 Timers: hello 1, topology change 0, notification 0, aging 300 Port 12 (ATM0.1) of Bridge group 1 is forwarding Port path cost 1072, Port priority 128, Port Identifier 128.12.
