Thanks K,
Quite understand.
In reality a poll every five minutes is precious little difference from
Push for my lifestyle.
My only concern is battery use as my reading so far suggested that Push
used less power.

Yes the AOL Android app does seem to push on the account where K-9 and
Aquamail fail.
I wonder if Kostja can work out why?

Sandy,
I put a new IMAP one on yesterday at the instructions of their Support -
suggesting that my earlier ones had the wrong settings.
It went on quickly and easily - but I admit I was using Aquamail if that
makes any difference which I doubt..

Thanks Sandy,
What I have gleaned from the Aquamail forum is that Yahoo has never
supported IDLE Push so if we are being migrated to one of those servers we
can forget about being able to continue that way.
I have set my errant compuserve address to poll for message every five
minutes. I can
One of my @compuserve.com accounts, hosted by AOL, lost its IMAP IDLE push
about two weeks ago. My second @com... account still has it.
I have made four attempts to get the Support Desk at AOL to tell me what is
happening. After inumerable time wasting emails from them telling me what

Full marks for looking John.
I was not aware there were problems with AquaMail.
I've got both AM and K9 running on my phone. Rather stupidly I set them
both to have the same 'b
If you have the patience to read this thread "K-9 does not synchronize
automatically, only manually" you will find someone called Mathguy who
never has a problem with push.
There is also someone called Dan who says he has made repeated postings
about a three step routine in Android that solves

What are you doing here then?
Have you not realised that people come to groups like this to ask for and
to offer help?
It seems not.

Never mind Mathguy.
When you have been around this sort of forum you'll understand why they
exist.
Not for people who don't care.

Two days on and total satisfaction with AquaMail.
Easy to install and when there is something I don't understand I put a
question on their forum and an answer comes back within hours.
Overnight the developer has been through the forum and added help to about
six messages.

I installed Aquamail on my phone this morning.
Golly it goes on far more easily than K9 - three different email addresses
and all working well.
I'll run it alongside K9 whilst I come to terms with its niceties. And
there is an active supporters forum which is reassuring.
I've had K9 for ages
I see what you are doing, P, but it does not help on the S4. The symbols on
that line are too large and the three dots are pushed off tot the right.
I am hoping that the K-9 I have on a couple of Android tablets will be
compatible as I can get at those.

I can't find the settings menu.
I thought it was on the Accounts Page.
All I have on my bottom bar (where I thought it was) is the Search,
Refresh, New send message, Set up New Account.
I can see the file but it is old and I want to refresh it as my ISP
settings have altered.
