ಅರ್ಥ:-ವೀರಗಾಸೆ,ವೀರಗಚ್ಚೆಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಶೈವ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದವರು ಶ್ರೀ ವೀರಭದ್ರದೇವರ
ವೀಲಗಾಥೆಯನ್ನು ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತಾ ,ಆಚರಿಸುವ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ವೀರನೃತ್ಯ.

೧]ತಾಳ:-ಮಂಗಲಕರ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ
ವಾದ್ಯವನ್ನು ನುಡಿಸುವಾಗ ನಿಯತಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಲು ಬಾರಿಸುವ ಕಂಚಿನ ವಾದ್ಯ.
೨]ಶ್ರುತಿ:-ಮಧುರ ನಾದವನ್ನುಂಟು
ಮಾಡುವ ವಾದ್ಯ.
೩]ಚಮಾಳ:-ಸಮಾಳ(ಚಮಗಾರ--ಸಮಗಾರ) ಚರ್ಮದ ವಾದ್ಯ.
೪]ಓಲಗ:-ಮಂಗಲಕರವಾದ್ಯ,ನಾಗಸ್ವರವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ವಾದ್ಯ.
೫]ಕರಡೆ:-ಒಂದು ಬಗೆಯ ಚರ್ಮವಾದ್ಯ,ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಬಾರಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ಬಗೆಯ ವಾದ್ಯ.

ವೀರಗಾಸೆ ಅಂದರೆ ವೀರಗಚ್ಚೆ ಎಂದರ್ಥ.(ವೀರರು ಯುದ್ಧದ
ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋರಾಡಲು ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕಚ್ಚೆ.)(ಶ್ರೀ ವೀರಭದ್ರನು ಶಿವನ
ಆಣತಿಯಂತೆ
ದಕ್ಷಬ್ರಹ್ಮನ ಸಂಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವ ಸಮಯದ ಸಂದರ್ಭವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ವೀರಗಾಸೆ
ತೊಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ವೀರಗಾಸೆ
ನೃತ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವ ಭಕ್ತರು ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ವೇಷಭೂಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.)ಈ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ
ವೀರಗಾಸೆ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಬಂದಿರಬಹುದು.

ರುದ್ರಗಾಸೆ=ಭಯಂಕರವಾದ(ಶಿವನ
