Thanks Duncan. Does anyone know of a source of a sort of overview on what hal, udev and what ever do for kde. My main bitch with 4.6.0 is the kpackager aspect especially as it seems to be locked into kmail. On one distro, kubuntu I think I did come across something that seemed to be related to kde
