Hmm, I can't fully reproduce it. When I press OK in step 4 it asks for LUKS
password (perhaps unnecessary but I need to check) once but then it works and
resizes properly.

I can't reproduce this. Seems to work correctly here.
I've selected root only. Then used Dolphin to mount the volume and the volume
was not writable (e.g. New File/Folder option was grayed out).
