Ok editing the first file didn't work for me, but editing ~/.config/gwenviewrc
got the menu back!
Exit all gwenview windows. Edit ~/.config/gwenviewrc by changing 'MenuBar' to

I purged anything to do with akonadi, set
/home/bryan/.local/share/akonadi_ical_resource_3/ to read only then reinstalled
back kde-full,
Now it looks like /usr/bin/akonadi_control > /usr/bin/akonadi_kalarm_resou

Ops... I meant /usr/bin/akonadi_control was the one using CPU... 'End Process'
this, and no more of those files will be created.

Just tried running Firefox-esr with '-safe-mode', and this problem doesn't seam
to be occurring now, so maybe it's a browser plug-in(s)? It' seams weird that a

With short text around a word or so it freezes for around a second, but for
longer text around a average size paragraph it can freezes around a minute or
more. Right now I can see that it has been frozen for close to

There are other times that the panel freezes*, but this `kdesudo Kate` causes
the panel to freeze consistently like stated above.
*(haven't figured out the pattern yet for the other times the panel freezes)
