Seems that one can either do
ln -s /var/lib/dbus/machine-id /etc/machine-id
or just create a new /var/lib/dbus/machine-id file and write some random
32-hex-digits number to it.

BTW: Changing the status of this checkbox isn't possible: kdenlive says it
