I do not understand what you mean by "self contained". I also fail to see how
it defeats the purpose? Doing a reboot for something like Firefox is not
required. Doing a reboot for the kernel or drivers is. A

UPDATE: With more testing I have determined that what is happening is System
Monitor GPU sensors show the nvidia-smi output from GPU2 in GPU1s sensor
output. It is not showing GPU1 output at all.
