I don't have xf86-video-intel. I removed it a long time ago because of some

I put KWIN_DRM_NO_AMS=1 in /etc/environment and rebooted. The behaviour didn't
change, so I removed it and rebooted again.
Then I obtained journalctl.log and dmesg.log as you instructed. They are
attached.

I found this kinda similar Gnome bug, which they fixed:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/1991
I don't know if it's useful. It might have been fixed by accident, since no
commit is mentioned.

I do get the same OSD when I switch the layout with the keyboard shortcut in

Figured it out with help from #kde-devel. I have to install the nss-mdns
package and edit /etc/nsswitch.conf to add "mdns" or "mdns_minimal" to the line
that starts with "hosts:"

@MrAndersen:
It's using the intel driver. When the modesetting driver is used you get lots
of lines with "modeset(0):" in them instead of "intel(0):".

Shortly after I commented back in December 2018 I learned about the xorg
modesetting driver. I removed xf86-video-intel and I've been using the
