Bug ID: 480824 Summary: Please allow Wacom tablets to be mapped across both screens Classification: Applications Product: systemsettings Version: unspecified Platform: Kubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: kcm_tablet Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: s...@pureandapplied.com.au CC: aleix...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start Plasma / Wayland session (this might also be the case in X11, I haven't tried) 2. Use Wacom tablet with multiple monitors 3. Open System settings / Graphics Tablet and sigh deeply as you stare in dismay at the available choices OBSERVED RESULT The only options available are "Follow active screen" and mapping to an individual monitor. "Follow active screen" means that to click on either screen the user must first use another pointing device to click somewhere in the other screen to make it active, and only then can they use the pen on that monitor. For applications that span multiple monitors this is so klunky as to be almost entirely useless, because the user will often be clicking back and forth all the time. Putting down the pen and grabbing the mouse, then finding an inactive area of the screen to click on before you can use the mouse is not a productive way to spend your time. EXPECTED RESULT User can use tablet pen as pointing device across multiple screens, as is the default mode in other desktop environments, and generic Mac / Windows shells.
